Basement Technologies®’ R&D department, with help from a Canadian engineering team, has developed and patented The Lawn Magnum® for a solution to lawn flooding caused by sump pump discharge and downspout extensions.

The Lawn Magnum®, with similar installations since 1952, has a life expectancy of approximately 50 years. The unit is 28” in height, 161/4” in diameter and weighs about 150 lbs. and is manufactured from an inert carbon material and portland cement. It is now available exclusively through your Basement Technologies® dealer and should help alleviate lawn flooding. The Lawn Magnum® is a patented design set up to force water laterally under the lawn. The discharged water is forced downward into the Lawn Magnum® and dispersed laterally into the subsoil and the aquifer, thus reducing the hassle and inconvenience of huge excavation sites and heavy equipment use. For severe flooding, multiple units can be installed.

The Lawn Magnum® will reduce the amount of water overflow to the surface of the lawn. The majority of the water is filtered underground and actually helps water the subsoil and roots under the lawn. The area surrounding the Lawn Magnum® burial area actually grows better and looks greener.

Using tons of stone, heavy equipment and moving yards of dirt is usually a disruptive “money losing” proposition. Basement Technologies®’ patented underground system actually pushes water laterally into the aquifer and is environmentally sound.

A patented porous unit made from activated charcoal, portland cement and proprietary products has been successfully used on golf courses, athletic stadiums and high profile areas for decades. This unit is now available to Builders and Architects. These units can be used in a “series” for hard clay substrate or can stand alone.
